Class action. Barrientos PC has filed a class action complaint against Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc., on behalf of dentists who were allegedly defrauded in connection with their purchase of PerioLase MVP-7 dental lasers at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

The allegations. The complaint alleges that Millennium told dentists that they were purchasing newly manufactured devices, but then fraudulently sent dentists used devices that were years old, previously owned, and even subject to prior customer complaints.

Monetary damages. The complaint seeks monetary damages, including the cost of the device and training that dentists would not have otherwise purchased, costs for travel to California for training that dentists would not have otherwise incurred, overpayment for the used device, a diminished ability to resell the device, diminished resale value of the used device, shortened usable lifespan of the device, and lost future profits caused by the shortened usable lifespan of the device.
